Supervises and coordinates the casting, drying, white ware inspection and maintenance of molds process to achieve the maximum utilization of materials, equipment, and manpower in accordance with quality standards and production schedules.




  1. Continuously strives to increase productivity and decrease operating costs through maximization of standard work methods and procedures, efficient utilization of material and equipment, and effective motivation of employees.
  2. Produce quality product in accordance with the established standards for the products produced in this department.
  3. Plans and organizes daily activities based on the production plans and information gained through engineering/production.
  4. Organizes and assigns positions to line operators and gives instructions on changes or new procedures introduced.
  5. Monitors and maintains line conditions including quality of workmanship, equipment operations and production parameters.
  6. Maintains equipment operation and troubleshoots possible equipment malfunctions with assistance from operating staff and engineers.
  7. Conducts quality/yield improvement activities, auditing operations, collecting data, checking defects and taking corrective actions.
  8. Trains, supervises and evaluates his/her subordinates.
  9. Maintains and provides personnel, production, and yield records.
  10. Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and maintains a safe working environment for employees.
  11. Establishes and maintains effective practices and procedures for employees regarding safety, training, good housekeeping, and discipline in accordance to applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations as well as TOTO policies and procedures.
  12. Ensures that all documentation and procedures are maintained in regards to ISO policies relating to Environment Management System and Quality Management System.




  1. Monitors mold conditions in the machine and takes corrective action when necessary.
  2. Communicate with other supervisors to ensure work flow and quality is maintained.
  3. Performs other duties as assigned.




Responsible for production output and quality of the Cast Shop.




Daily contact with section managers, engineers and line workers.  Also daily contact with supervisors involved in the flow of ware.




High school graduate with additional college courses.  At least three (3) years of supervisor experience in manufacturing is essential.




Directly supervises thirty-five plus workers.

Work Environment:

The work environment consists of an indoor manufacturing facility with controlled environment. Heat, humidity and barometric pressure can fluctuate depending on area of plant. Depending on job, exposure to odors, fumes, sounds and product may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) including, but not limited to, protective gloves, ear protection, eye protection and safety shoes.

Ideal candidates will be able to perform with the above requirements/conditions and have the following:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Six months assembly or production related experience.
  • Basic mathematical and measurement skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and an understanding of fractions and decimals)
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic written instructions and procedures.
  • Must have mechanical capability.
