MAJOR FUNCTION:

MAJOR FUNCTION:

Maintenance Technicia I

MAJOR FUNCTION:

To provide skilled labor to install, repair, overhaul, replace, remodel and perform preventive maintenance for production machinery and equipment, building facilities, and grounds in order to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Routine/Basic and specialized maintenance equipment to include, but not limited to; test meters, power and hand tools, ladders, scaffolds, etc.  Operates forklifts, manlifts, welding machines, etc as needed.

MATERIALS:

Metals (Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Aluminum), Plastics (CPVC, PVC, Lexan), Wood, Rubber and other special materials as required.

SOURCE OF SUPERVISION:

COMPETENCIES:

  1. Install, repair, overhaul, and maintain basic electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electro-mechanical machinery and equipment.
  2. Observe and test operation of electrical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or mechanical devices in order to evaluate and identify operating problems.

  6. Maintain maintenance logs and other required documentation.
  7. Develop additional technical skills and knowledge of electro-mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical principles, maintenance and repair practices.
  8. Develop familiarity with ergonomics and production and assembly processes in order to evaluate process efficiency and develop modifications to improve efficiency.
